One of the services we provide is putting consumers in touch with local ranchers, cattle brokers, and feedlot operators so they can purchase beef and pork straight from the source to be sure of what they are eating or feeding folks.   Being a custom meat processing plant we can’t directly sell livestock, but we can help put people together and help coordinate the exchange and then process the meat to the consumers desires ~ Your Meat, Your Way!

If you are interested in this program and want to learn about pricing options, please go https://starvalleymeatblock.com/product/ranch-to-freezer/  or e-mail us at:

starvalleymeatblock@gmail.com

We have several options for your consideration:

  • Beef or Pork:
  • Grass Fed or Grain Finished; and
  • Whole, Half, or Quarter.

Just select one of the categories and we will be in touch with you shortly.  We are currently booked through Mid-January, but then have openings through July.  We also have gift certificates if you are interested in purchasing a whole, ½ or ¼ beef or pig as a Christmas Gift for family, friends, or employees.

There is nothing better than sharing high quality food and knowing that you helped out local ranchers and businesses……and knowing you saved a ton versus purchasing retail.

Thank you,

Grant & Tylee

  1. Interested in Beef and would like to discuss size

    • Hi Sonya,

Thank you for reaching out to us. On average a grain finished, high quality beef will cost $1,200 to purchase after being polished with grain. We charge $0.65/lb to process all the typical cuts and hamburger. Grass fed vary a little more, but we can find you a good deal. If you would like jerky, summer sausage, salami, etc. the price can go up. A 1/2 beef is basically 1/2 that cost. Let us know kind of what you are thinking and we will locate a beef for you.

An average beef will weigh 800-lbs hanging after slaughter, skinning etc. We can age to your desire.

      Thanks,

      Grant & Tylee

  2. On average, what does a 1/4 beef cost cut and wrapped?

On average 1/4 beef is 200 lbs hanging. So $300 +$150 = $450 total cost (varies by weight though)

      Thanks,

  3. Hi Grant & Tylee

So a whole beef is $1200.00, so what’s an average cost on the whole whole beef after processing ( steaks, roasts, ribs, hamburger, jerky, etc.) I understand you can give me an exact amount just looking for a ball park figure.

    • Thanks Kyle, I will answer your question and others with this response.

Beef pricing really depends on what type of beef you are interested in. Our home grown program is designed to help you find the perfect fit from ranchers around the area. We work with several ranchers who have grass fed, no hormones or antibiotics added, or we can get a grass fed finished on grain. Those finished on grain are currently going for about $1.21/lb to buy and our processing fee is $0.65/lb for the basic cuts and burger plus an $85 harvest fee. If you wanted cured or cooked products it would go up from there. A typical estimate would be $2,500 all together with about 400-500 lbs of meat packaged.

As far as pigs go they weigh 265-275 lbs they are $230 a piece and we charge $0.55/lb to process plus a $50 harvest fee. Any cured products would be extra. You can expect to get about 70% of the meat off a pig.

Let me know if you have any other questions! We look forward to working with you!

      Thanks

    • We would be happy to help! Beef are going for about $1.21 a lb to buy and our processing fee is $0.65 a lb for the basic cuts and burger plus an $85 harvest fee. A typical estimate would be $2,500 all together with about 400-500 lbs of meat packaged. So a quarter would be around $625 all together, a half would be $1,250 all together. Please keep in mind these are just estimates.

Thankyou for your interest! If you have any other questions please let us know!
